Elliott Optometry takes pride in providing the best in optometric care to patients of all ages, infants to senior citizens. Dr. Russell P. Elliott received his pre-optometry education from Illinois Wesleyan University and is a 1970 graduate of the Indiana University School of Optometry. Ranking 3rd in his graduating class, he had the distinction of serving as Class President his senior year. Completing over 800 hours of postgraduate education, as well as having practiced with his father ( the late Gerald C. Elliott, O.D. ) for 24 years, have given him a wealth of optometric knowledge and clinical experience.
Known as " Rusty " to many of his long time patients, Dr. Elliott performs an exceptionally thorough examination on every patient utilizing the latest in high-tech equipment. This allows him to detect cataract, glaucoma, macular degeneration and other conditions at their earliest stages. As a medically trained optometrist, Dr. Elliott routinely treats most conditions of the eye including glaucoma, corneal ulcers, eye infections, allergies, abrasions and inflammations. He co-manages cataract, secondary cataract, lasik and other eye surgeries with many of the finest surgeons in the Midwest.
Dr. Elliott is available 24 hours a day for emergency eyecare including removing foreign objects from the eye and treating all types of eye injuries. .
When eyeglasses are needed, Dr. Elliott personally verifies and adjusts each pair to make certain they are correct and perform as prescribed.
